Lumenis OptiLift Eyelid Laxity Machine
Lumenis OptiLift Eyelid Laxity Machine works by gently re-activating and strengthening the muscles around your eyes that are responsible for blinking. During the treatment, small, comfortable applicators are placed on the lower eyelids and surrounding area. These deliver controlled electrical pulses, known as Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMSt), which cause the eyelid muscles to contract and relax in a natural, rhythmic way. Treatment may help support:
Reduction in lid laxity
Improvement in blinking quality
Healthier tear film function
More stable moisture across the ocular surface
Improved comfort for patients with dry eye
Long-term dry eye management, when combined with other therapies
Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMSt)
OptiLIFT uses gentle electrical impulses to activate the orbicularis oculi and other periorbital muscles (the muscles around your eyes), helping them contract more effectively. This strengthens and tones the muscles that naturally weaken with age.
Radiofrequency (RF) Energy
The RF component delivers controlled heat to deeper skin layers, which:
Stimulates collagen and elastin production
Improves skin firmness and elasticity
Tightens the delicate skin around the eyes
Used for:
1. Improve Lower Eyelid Function
Strengthens eyelid muscles that may have weakened with age
Helps achieve more complete and efficient blinking, boosting tear distribution and reducing dry eye symptoms caused by incomplete blinks and lax lids.
2. Dry Eye Relief
Better blinking and lid closure help maintain a stable tear film, which can reduce dryness, irritation, and discomfort in some patients.
3. Cosmetic Rejuvenation
Tightens and tones the lower eyelid area
Can reduce the appearance of sagging skin, under-eye bags, and puffiness
Improves skin elasticity and texture around the eyes thanks to RF-induced collagen formation.
Addresses crow’s feet as well
Reported benefits & clinical results:
According to clinical data published and shared by Lumenis and independent sources (note that individual results may vary):
~75% reduction in lower eyelid laxity
~70% improvement in blink quality and function
~286% increase in tear breakup time (TBUT) indicating better tear film stability
Enhanced tear distribution and eyelid mechanics
